We are days away from the Galaxy Unpacked event where Samsung is slated to unveil its next-gen foldable smartphones and now, a top Samsung executive has revealed key details of the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 ahead of the Unpacked launch event. According to TM Roh, President and Head of MX Business, Samsung Electronics, the company has “raised the standards for foldable smartphone ergonomics”. The portability of Samsung’s foldable phones has garnered great interest in the past few weeks after the release of Google’s maiden foldable phone, the Google Pixel Fold. Even as there are similarities between the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Pixel Fold, the latter is 0.2 inches thinner.

Meta-owned Instagram Threads, a new Twitter rival has just received its first major update, weeks after its launch. Meta’s latest Threads update comes for iPhones with a host of new features, including the ability to translate text from other languages and address issues that were present. The company is also rolling out a “Follows tab” to the activity feed that is likely to make it easier for users to see who is following them. Cameron Roth, the engineer behind Threads has given insights into the deployment of the new update.

OnePlus 12, the successor to the popular OnePlus 11 is likely to be launched in December and the handset would come with a significant upgrade in the camera department, a leak suggested recently. Now, another leak has surfaced that suggests that the OnePlus 12 will get a big upgrade in terms of battery capacity, RAM and onboard storage. The previous leak had indicated a periscope camera and a glossy back.

Twitter is facing another lawsuit, the second this month, asserting that it owes over $500 million in severance pay to former employees. The legal action, filed as a proposed class action in Delaware federal court by Chris Woodfield, a former senior engineer at Twitter, alleges that the company specifically targeted older workers for layoffs, a claim not present in the other ongoing cases, as reported by Reuters.

During a recent virtual Inspire conference, Microsoft announced that it would be introducing new artificial intelligence (AI) features to its widely used office software, with a corresponding increase in cost. The company aims to capitalize on the potential benefits of AI technology. Microsoft revealed that it would charge customers at least 53 per cent more to access the AI copilot feature in Microsoft 365. This upgraded version promises to draft emails in Outlook, create documents in Word, and make an employee’s data easily accessible via a chatbot. The monthly cost per user for the AI co-pilot will be $30, in addition to existing publicly listed plans that range from $12.50 to $57.
